Personal Testimonial
(as if This Site in its Entirety is not Already A Personal Testimonial)
Born and raised in New Hampshire, (and briefly, San Diego, California) Adelaide has a love for science, with interests ranging from marine biology, to astrophysics, to sustainability and ecological preservation. Having grown up on both USA coasts, there isn't a beach in a climate she wouldn't visit. In fact, she plans to help save the polar ice caps, so that she may one day stand on the ultimate frozen beach.

I have been in love with STEM for as long as can remember. I started with a love for marine biology, moved to astrophysics, and finally settled on biomedical engineering. The more scientific experience and involvement I could get my hands on, the better. However, bio/biomedical engineering caught and held my attention in high school when I first learned about it. I myself have personally grown up with a unique auto-immune disease that has changed the way I live my life, and it went misdiagnosed for several years which was frightening and confusing. Although my condition is mild and relatively easy to live with now that I have a more accurate diagnosis, it inspired me to look into the world of biomedical science. Although I know I am lucky, not everyone who suffers from chronic conditions has the luxury of living so easily. My own experience fostered my passion for learning about innovative medical science and I want to spend my professional life working to fill the cracks in medicine, so that those who fall outside the medical norm have an equal chance to live their lives.
